Wootton High School

PERSONAL PROJECT | IDENTITY | TYPOGRAPHY | MOCK-UPS

My high school has a complicated history with its branding. When I was a student, the school used the New England Patriots official logo without getting the team’s permission. They probably aren’t the only school to have done this but after either getting sued or getting a cease and desist letter, the school rebranded. The result is pretty generic and frankly, highschoolers deserve a cooler logo than what they got. I searched for a symbol of patriotism that could adapt over time, unlike the image of a white colonist in a cocked hat. So, I looked to the Constitution for inspiration, and in its opening line, I found the answer: a gorgeous, blackletter “W.” We the people demand better branding.
